Breeding Philosophy
Over the years our philosophy has remained unchanged with our program being based on a commercially orientated and balanced approach to breeding with strong emphasis on low birth weight, calving ease, structural soundness, high maternal, growth, fertility, yield, meat quality and docility. This enables us to continue ‘Bending the Growth Curve’ and gives our clients more live calves on the ground. Along with high fertility, these are the major profit drivers in any herd.
Here at Glentrevor we have been extremely proud of the performance of our first ever Herefords Australia Super Sire in Glentrevor Trust N909 who was selected in 2020. We have had numerous & repeated Semen Sales over the last three years to various leading Performance Herds in our breed including Yavenvale Herefords (NSW); Wirruna Poll Herefords (NSW); Tobruk Poll Herefords (NSW); Yalgoo Partnership (NSW); Quamby Plains Poll Herefords (TAS); JW & DM House (WA); Mount Difficult Poll Herefords (VIC); Ironbark Glen Poll Herefords (NSW); Harbrae Herefords (VIC); Stirling Grove Poll Herefords (TAS) as well as several Commercial Herds ranging throughout Victoria, New South Wales & Queensland.
Progeny of Glentrevor Trust N909 have been selling strongly & we would like to personally congratulate Damien Halloway of Tobruk Poll Herefords (NSW) for setting a new Australian Hereford Yearling Bull record with a son of Trust at his Annual Sale. Tobruk Southern Cross S15 sold to Lachy & Lou Day of Days Whiteface (Bordertown, SA) for $91,000 & this bull has since also been selected as another Herefords Australia Super Sire.
